Influence of operating conditions on cermet inert anode corrosion in cryolite for aluminium production

نویسندگان

چکیده

A (NixFeyO4–Ni1?x?Fex’O)/(Cux?’Niy’’) cermet candidate as inert anode was investigated in cryolite at 960 °C. Immersion tests were performed and different conditions tested: ratio, alumina content, electrolyte quality, metallic aluminium content atmosphere. Then, electrolysis realised 0.8 cm-2 for 4 h industrial conditions: grade electrolyte, CR 2.2, saturated Al2O3, °C presence of Al. The initial material composition still present the bulk phases compositions oxidised zone are Ni0.90Fe2.10O4 Ni0.90Fe0.10O, observed during immersion tests. phase is partly oxidised, leading to porosity cermet.

Influence of Sulphur Impurities on the Interfacial Tension between Aluminium and Cryolite Alumina Melts

The interfacial tension (IFT) between aluminium and cryolite melts containing different salt additions (AlF3, NaF, Na2SO4) has been measured during electrolysis by the capillary depression method. The technique is based on the measurement of the capillary depression occurring when a capillary, which is moved vertically down through the molten salt layer, passes through the metal/salt interface....

Cavitation Erosion of Cermet-Coated Aluminium Bronzes

The cavitation erosion resistance of CuAl10Ni5Fe2.5Mn1 following plasma spraying with Al₂O₃·30(Ni20Al) powder and laser re-melting was analyzed in view of possible improvements of the lifetime of components used in hydraulic environments. The cavitation erosion resistance was substantially improved compared with the one of the base material. The thickness of the re-melted layer was in the range...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Effect of operating conditions on divinylbenzene production in diethyl benzene dehydrogenation reactor

DEB dehydrogenation reaction was conducted to produce divinylbenzene (DVB) and ethylvinylbenzene (EVB). The effects of temperature, catalyst weight and time factor on the performance of the dehydrogenation reactor were investigated experimentally. Temperature was varied from 550º C up to 600 º C. Temperature affect the conversion of DEB to DVB significantly. The mole fraction of DEB in the outl...
